About Us

Who We Are

Boy Scout Troop 4 is comprised of nearly 40 Scouts ranging in age from 11 to 18 from the towns of Shrewsbury and Northborough, Massachusetts.  Our Troop is sponsored by the American Legion Ray Stone Post 238 located at 2 School St. in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.

The Troop meets once a week whenever school is in session on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the Ray Stone Post.

The Troop is supported by a very active group of adult volunteers.  The Troop Committee (Adult Leadership) meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (while school is in session) from 7:15 to 9:00 PM at the Ray Stone Post.

Anybody is welcome to attend a Troop or Committee Meeting to learn more about Troop 4.

Our Mission

From the Boy Scouts of America website:

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Scout Oath

On my honor I will do my best
to do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
to help other people at all times;
to keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful,
friendly, courteous, kind, obedient,
cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Troop 4 fulfills the mission through its unique mentoring program and providing a wide variety of adventurous (and FUN!) trips.
